A long time ago, pre-marriage (and divorce!), I used to pack my fiance's lunch for work everyday. I always added something random, hoping he'd smile and think of me. Once I filled it with two whole bags of Hershey's kisses. (He never even questioned why his lunch was so heavy). Hmmmmm.</div><div>But the time I will never forget is the time I stuck a "love note" INSIDE the sandwich! Boy, did I get an earful when he got home! Eating a whole paper note while wondereing what the heck was in the sandwich (but never bothering to even check) should have been a red flag that things would not end well in the future. </div><div>So, learning from my mistakes, when I wanted to make " lunch box love notes" for my neighbor to include in her son's lunch box, I went a different route. Since design time was out of the question, I did actually purchase these designs, but Design Space has SO many darling images you could come up with much cuter ones. I added an offset to my uploaded images, printed them using Print Then Cut, and adhered them to a cardstock layer. I think they came out super cute! And, so far, no reports of her son eating them. Some girl will get a good one . . .<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHVKk4511zCrMuI0aiTso_8QprL5Zv1gjlMIrJ5Ed_6mn-IrylsOXGkZPkRXieja4DB_GA84zVDK_opsSLViRhOu5tCW1o01hxoPrSlICs47J8MsVNvb23dXYndEcGrwzmCJ1P4Gkj9KvN/s62/dee+sig.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="62" data-original-width="55" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHVKk4511zCrMuI0aiTso_8QprL5Zv1gjlMIrJ5Ed_6mn-IrylsOXGkZPkRXieja4DB_GA84zVDK_opsSLViRhOu5tCW1o01hxoPrSlICs47J8MsVNvb23dXYndEcGrwzmCJ1P4Gkj9KvN/s16000/dee+sig.jpg" /></a></div><br />~ dee ~http://www.blogger.com/profile/03282759460641574819noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6924504398918241042.post-32854414640879504732021-07-25T14:34:00.001-07:002021-07-25T14:34:35.200-07:00<span style="font-size: medium;">An oldie but a goodie! I wasn't able to capture the holographic beauty of this card, but it looks really pretty in person. The lips and pink hearts are glitter card stock. The file is from <a href="http://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/the_cutting_cafe/smooch-word-shaped-card/">The Cutting Cafe</a>. I always feel like I need to do something on the inside, especially on a black card since I don't think most people have white gel pens lying around.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As you can tell . . . I am still being drawn towards the word shaped cards. I did make a few other styles, though.<br />

<a href="http://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/the_cutting_cafe/">The Cutting Cafe</a> Design Team Challenge this time was "Designer's Choice". Since I needed to make a 50th Birthday Card for a friend and am in love with Regina's <a href="http://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/the_cutting_cafe/word-shaped-cards-phrases/">word shaped cards</a>, I chose the "<a href="http://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/the_cutting_cafe/fabulous-word-shaped-card/">Fabulous</a>" card. I added a number 50 with a little candle flame, and some glitter and bling to the front. For some reason my photos never seem to pick up the sparkle and do the cards justice. It was very pretty in person, and Kerry loved it! </div>

Brrr . . . it's getting cold outside! It's about time. Anyway, the Cutting Cafe Design Challenge was to create a card using the Christmas Shaker Card Set, which you can find <a href="http://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/the_cutting_cafe/christmas-shaker-cards/">here</a>. So, here it is! I picked the mitten, and filled it with snow, I really enjoy making these cards - they are easy and go together fast! Be sure you check out all the other <a href="http://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/cutting_cafe_blog/2014/12/design-team-7th-of-the-month-postchristmas-shakers.html">Design Team projects</a> at the Cutting Cafe. I am always amazed at the creativity and talent of this group.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hi everyone! For this design challenge from The Cutting Cafe I used the Happy Thanksgiving Word Shaped Card file. I used my Explore to Print Then Cut the turkey and the Gobble Gobble graphics. You can't tell from this picture, but I used pop dots to attach the turkey to give it a little dimension. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There is still time to make your own! This card goes together f.a.s.t.! You can purchase the file <a href="http://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/the_cutting_cafe/2012/10/happy-thanksgiving-word-shaped-card-template.html">here</a>. Be sure to check out all of the other projects done by Regina's fabulous design team! <a href="http://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/cutting_cafe_blog/2014/11/thankful-gobble-more.html">Click here</a>.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and a SAFE Black Friday! I'll hold out for Cyber Monday . . . </div>

The Design Team from <a href="http://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/the_cutting_cafe/">The Cutting Cafe</a> had a very fun assignment this time! Well, they are always fun, but this was a new kind of card for me - a shaker card. I actually used three of Regina's files for this. The main card is the <a href="http://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/the_cutting_cafe/2014/09/halloween-and-fall-shaker-cards-templates-and-cutting-files.html">Halloween and Fall Shaker Card</a> set. It includes several different sentiments. You can purchase a set of 5 designs, or purchase them individually. They are all SO cute! The set is the way to go.<br />
I printed cut the background using the <a href="http://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/the_cutting_cafe/2012/08/eek-background-printable-stamp-set.html">EEK Background set.</a><br />
The pumpkin face is from the <a href="http://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/the_cutting_cafe/2014/10/pumpkin-bag-template-and-cutting-file.html">Pumpkin Bag Template</a>. I just cut the face from black vinyl and put it on my transparency. After everything was assembled I gently inked around my pumpkin with brown ink.<br />
After I "fired" my cool temp glue gun and went back to my trusty ATG, this card flew together. So fun!<br />

<br />
Unfortunately, another sympathy card. This was a "Make It Now" project from the Design Space library. The images are on Anna Griffin carts. I was NOT impressed with the instructions, or should I say <i>lack</i> of instructions for this card. I've never made a Make It Now project - maybe they are all that way. or, maybe it is just me. I added a little bling and dot work, The edges are inked in lavender but it is hard to notice. I tried white, but didn't like it so I went back to lavender.<br />

A dozen little Ghosts all ready for giving. This was a free file courtesy of Omar Toro that can be found on his blog <a href="http://www.awesomesvgs.blogspot.com/">Awesome SVGs</a>, along with many other styles, and may other designs. It went together really fast. Each ghost holds a good amount of candy - mine each have a full size Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, mini Rolos, and a mini bag of M&Ms stashed inside. I'll be sharing these with some co-workers.</div>

Three little textured pumpkins! Oh, and just a little spider. Aren't they cute? This file is from <a href="http://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/the_cutting_cafe/pumpkin-trio-shaped-card/">The Cutting Cafe</a><i> (as all of the BEST files are . . .)</i>. I love them! I used my Cuttlebug to texture them up, and cut the smallest one out of burlap. I most likely won't to that again. Seems a little ragged on the edges to me, but oh well. Maybe I used the wrong settings? And yes, I know my card looks eerily similar to Regina's. What can I say, except that she has the best ideas, so how could I not copy?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The base of this card is brown craft card stock, and the envelope is made from it, too. I'm tying it closed with raffia and attaching a little pumpkin I created using the new Print Then Cut feature on my Cricut Explore. LOVE THAT! I used Print Then Cut for the little spider on the card, too. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'll be giving this little card to a friend at work, who has been going through some stressful times lately. Her dad called her "Pumpkin" as a little girl (maybe he still does), and once she let that slip out I've called her that, too. I think this will make her smile, since she isn't expecting it.</div>
<br />
<span style="text-align: justify;">And HEY! Who's ready for the 24 hour craft day on HSN Tuesday? I already have the day off . . . </span><br />
